Montenegro is entering a period of intensive infrastructure changes

The Minister of Transport of Montenegro stated that the country is entering a period of intensive infrastructural changes that will significantly impact its development and the quality of life of its citizens. She emphasized that the coming months will be crucial for the launch of the second section of the highway, the arrival of Wizz Air, and the modernization of railway and road infrastructure.

The Minister reported that final negotiations are underway with Wizz Air, which will soon open its base in Podgorica.

A tender has been announced for the procurement of new trains as well as for the reconstruction of railway crossings. The development of the main railway reconstruction project is nearing completion.

The Minister reminded that a large number of projects are being implemented across the country, with a special focus on the north.

“I would especially like to highlight the Vrulja–Mijakovići road, which will be completed by the end of October, as well as the Ribarovine–Poda–Berane section, where asphalting has already been finished. Intensive work is also underway on the bridge over the Đurđevića Tara River. In the south of the country, the Bar–Kamenički Most–Krute road project is being implemented, along with the Tivat–Jaz boulevard, and a tender is being prepared for the Budva bypass, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the country.”
